In dropshipping, margin is a number. Ads come after the number exists

The feed sells “winning products”. Stores die on postage and returns. PhoebusLab’s drop track puts suppliers and math before ads. That order is the whole point.
Words that must be numbers
- Landed cost: supplier + delivery to the customer + packing if you pay it.
- Selling price: what the buyer pays.
- Margin: what remains after landed cost, as a share of price — not “feels fat”.
- Ad cap for the test: a loss you can take while you learn if the page converts at all.
Supplier filters before the store
Look for dropship cooperation (ships without their invoice in the box), MOQ of 1, and a reply that names lead time. A catalog screenshot is not a supplier. A chat that answers those three lines is.
Ads are a second machine
When the number exists, the first week of ads follows the same spine as the traffic note: one offer, one geo, pixel, kill rule, table. Do not buy four creatives for a product whose margin you cannot write.
Open the drop course when you are ready to hunt one supplier and write one margin line this week. If you are still picking a field, use the niche filter.
Questions
- What is MOQ in dropshipping?
- Minimum order quantity. For a true drop start you want MOQ = 1 so you do not stock a batch.
- Can I run ads before I have a supplier?
- No. Ads without a shippable SKU and a margin line train you to spend, not to deliver.
- Is markup the same as margin?
- No. Markup is how much you raised price over cost. Margin is what share of the selling price stays after cost.
- What is the first artifact in drop?
- A supplier reply with MOQ and lead time, plus one written margin line for one SKU. The store comes after.
